Bob Dylan
"Blood On The Tracks"

Released: 1974
Bob Dylan's "divorce album" is one of those timeless classics that turn up on lots of "Greatest albums ever"-lists. It's perhaps Dylan's most personal album to date, while it has to be said that his latest album, "Time Out Of Mind", is intensely personal too. Mostly acoustic (or at least with an acoustic feel) this ranges from the rather pretty to the downright furious, thus mirroring the tension but also the love between the artist and his wife Sara (they divorced in 1977). This is really the second version of the album. Most songs were re-recorded just before its release date and even though the result is a brilliant album, there are people who claim that the original was even better. One good example is "Idiot Wind", which in its original version had something almost tender about it, while the released version is really angry. Again this is one of those "whole" albums, but fave tracks include "Tangled Up In Blue", "Idiot Wind", "You're A Big Girl Now" and "If You See Her, Say Hello".
Other Dylan-albums in the same genre: "Time Out of Mind", "Oh Mercy", "Infidels" and "Desire".
